It’s easy! We are releasing tagged bass throughout Lake Murray and Santee Cooper. Be registered, catch a tagged bass and get paid!

The tournament will take place on Santee Cooper and Lake Murray. There will be 400 tags released throughout the two lakes.

You must use a traditional rod and reel. Other methods like trot lines, snagging, yo-yos, gill nets, hoop nets, or shocking are not allowed.

The event runs from February 19th through May 31st 2026. The fish must be hooked on or after February 19th and the tag must be submitted no later than May 31st.

No! You only need to clip the Bonus Bass tag from the fish and snap a picture. You then can upload the picture to the online portal or text 978-500-9805 to register your catch.

Yes! You must be registered prior to catching a tagged fish. Tagged fish can only be entered by registered anglers. For registration, please visit the registration tab!

Pluck the tag from the fish and register the pictures of the tag on www.bonusbass.com or call/text 978-500-9805. Remember you do not have to turn the tag in on the day you catch it. Wait for the Bonus to grow!

Please notify us at 978-500-9805 in order for us to get another tagged fish released.

Continue your tournament. If you cull that fish just pluck the tag from the fish and register it after tournament hours.

After your initial purchase, you will be prompted with a “Thanks for Registering” page. To access the content displayed on this page, you just click on ‘Account’ at the top of the page & select ‘Angler Homepage’. You will then have access to the conten!

On the opening day of the tournament the Bonus for a tagged fish is $100. Every day the Bonus goes up $100. If a tag is turned in on day 7 the angler earns $700. The next day the Bonus starts over at $100. Every Tuesday gift cards or gear will also be thrown into the Bonus pot.

If multiple anglers turn a fish in on the same day the Bonus is split evenly.

You may hold on to a tag and submit it when you choose.

Bonus Bass has a sealed envelope with one tag number inside. At the end of the event anglers will get to see if there tag number is a match to the winning number. A match will pay out $25,000.
